Samuel L. Jackson & Ben Mendelsohn to Reunite for Secret Invasion!
With the two having swapped places sometime after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Skrull Talos are reuniting as Kevin Feige has revealed a Disney+ series adaptation of Secret Invasion is currently in the works at the streaming platform.
Written by Brian Michael Bendis, pencilled by Leinil Francis Yu, inked by Mark Morales and colored by Laura Martin, the eight-part limited crossover series centered on a subversive, long-term invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a group of alien shapeshifters who have secretly replaced many superheroes in the Marvel Universe with impostors over a period of years, prior to the over invasion.
While initially appearing as villains in the Brie Larson-led Captain Marvel, the Skrulls were given a much more sympathetic portrayal in the film as they were actually racing across the galaxy to find a new home to escape from the Kree. Following their successful partnership and banning of the Kree from Earth and its nearby space, the Skrulls headed off to look for a new home planet, only for it to later be revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home that Talos and his wife Soren had switched places with Fury and Maria Hill, with the former currently working with the Skrulls on their ship.
No writer, showrunner or producer is currently attached to the project.
