Biggest Star in Appleton: Kristin Chenoweth signs up for Disney+ comedy
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kristin Chenoweth has signed up to star in and executive produce the single-camera Disney+ comedy series The Biggest Star in Appleton.
Per the report, the series will focus on Carol Dannhauser (Chenoweth), “a mother, wife, and waitress in Appleton, Wisconsin, who gets her deepest satisfaction from small-town stardom at her community theater. Her status is threatened, however, when a struggling New York chorus girl moves back home with dreams of her own.”
Paul Rudnick (In & Out) will executive produce alongside Chenoweth, and Dan Jinks (American Beauty), who worked with the actress on ABC’s Pushing Daisies.
Chenoweth is a versatile actress who has starred in a number of productions, including the TV series American Gods, the films Four Christmases and Stranger Than Fiction; and has lent her vocal talents to everything from Robot Chicken to BoJack Horseman.
