The Most Fun We Ever Had: Amy Adams & Laura Dern producing HBO series
Amy Adams (Sharp Objects) and Laura Dern (Big Little Lies) are producing a new drama series, The Most Fun We Ever Had, for HBO, Deadline confirmed.
The project is based on the bestselling novel published in June by Claire Lombardo and is a multigenerational saga spanning half a century.
The Most Fun We Ever Had follows four sisters, each struggling to exist in the shadow of their parents’ idyllic marriage, whose lives are complicated by the unexpected return of the son one of them gave up for adoption fifteen years earlier.
Lombardo will write the series adaptation and will also serve as co-executive producer. Adams and Stacy O’Neil’s Bond Group Entertainment, which is currently under a first-look deal with HBO, and Dern and Jayme Lemons’ Jaywalker Pictures will co-produce the series.
Adams, O’Neil, Dern, and Lemons will executive produce. Anya Epstein (The Affair) will serve as showrunner and is also executive producing. Bond Group’s Clifford will co-produce.
Six-time Oscar nominee Adams previously collaborated with HBO on the limited series Sharp Objects. Her upcoming projects include The Woman in the Window, Hillbilly Elegy, and Disenchanted. Two-time Oscar nominee Dern stars in HBO’s Big Little Lies, and can next be seen in Marriage Story and Little Women.
