Sarah Silverman talk show gets HBO pilot order, Judd Apatow producing
HBO has ordered a new late-night series pilot from Sarah Silverman and producer Judd Apatow, Deadline has confirmed. The comedian also has a new stand-up comedy special in the works for the network.
The late-night series is described as Silverman “weighing in on the mishigas of the week and taking live video calls.” Silverman, Apatow, and Amy Zvi will executive produce the pilot.
“Sarah is truly a comedic force of nature and we’re so happy to have her back on HBO,” said HBO programming’s executive vice president Nina Rosenstein.
“I’m as passionate talking about my face-washing routine as I am talking about why billionaires cost us money. Nothing’s off the table and nothing’s too high or low brow for me. I mean — look at my face — I’m literally all brow,” added Silverman.
Silverman is a two-time Emmy winner for her work on Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles and Jimmy Kimmel Live! She recently created, hosted, and executive produced the talk series I Love You, America for Hulu, which earned two Emmy nominations. Her upcoming projects include the comedy feature Marry Me and the musical adaptation of her memoir The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee set for release in 2020.
