The upcoming episode of Oxygen’s Kill or Be Killed, “Kill Thy Neighbor,” will air on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET. It will revolve around the murder of Anna Weed by her neighbor, Hector Campos, while she was in her front yard.

Campos was convicted of murder for shooting his neighbor Anna Weed on January 24, 2017, in the 3400 block of Mourning Dove in Spring. According to People Magazine, Weed was wounded in the chest and died a little while after she was shot. A neighbor who witnessed the shooting rushed over to the scene. The neighbor then held Campos at gunpoint until the authorities arrived and arrested him.

According to the Harris County District Attorney, Anna Weed and Hector Campos had been feuding since his divorce. In June 2016, Weed reportedly took Campos’s estranged wife and 11-month-old daughter on a trip to Mexico, which led him to file for divorce. Moreover, Weed reportedly helped Campos’ wife get through the divorce proceedings, which escalated the tensions between them.

Harris County District Attorney reported that on the day of the murder, Hector Campos was washing his truck in his driveway when Anna Weed walked out with her dog. The two got into an argument over his estranged wife’s current location. As the argument heated, Weed’s dog began barking at him. He then took out a handgun and shot Weed in the chest once.

How many years was Hector Campos sentenced to?

The court sentenced Hector Campos to 45 years in prison after he was found guilty. However, he pleaded not guilty and claimed that he acted in self-defense. Prior to the murder, Weed was reportedly wrapping a gift for her grandson and had a roll of tape in her hand. Campos alleged that she shoved him. He also claimed that he feared that she was going to wrap the tape around his neck and choke him, Fox 26 reported.

However, the court dismissed his claims that the shooting was an act of self-defense. This was after several neighbors and Weed’s husband told authorities that Weed and Campos had harbored anger over Weed since she helped his wife with her pending divorce and custody battle. Moreover, Weed and her husband reportedly helped her financially. Campos was reportedly abusive towards her.

After he was charged with the shooting in January 2017, Campos was released on bail on a bond of $50,000. However, he was asked to wear a GPS tracker on his ankle. He was also asked to give up his passport and stay in Harris County. He wasn’t allowed to make contact with either the victim’s family and relatives or with any witnesses, CBS News reported.

Oxygen‘s true crime show Kill or Be Killed’s upcoming episode will feature the murder case of Anna Weed. It will dig deeper into the incident and Hector Campos’ subsequent trial. The episode will air on Oxygen on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET.
