The latest episode of Mean Girl Murders will explore the murder of Sarah Ludemann by Rachel Wade. Titled ” Battle of the Beach Bodies,” it will air on ID on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET.

Sarah Ludemann was an 18-year-old woman who died after a confrontation between her and Rachel Wade. The latter had been dating Joshua Camacho, Ludemann’s boyfriend. The two women had been engaging in threats and online abuse via MySpace, texts, and voicemails for months. It was only later when Wade and Ludemann found out about Camacho’s two-timing. Ludemann was stabbed in her heart, with the kitchen knife as a murder weapon, on April 15, 2009, CBS News reported.

According to ABC News, Sarah Ludemann’s parents were increasingly suspicious of her recent relationship, which was also her first. She met Joshua Camacho at a Chick-fil-A restaurant where he had been working. They began dating soon, and photographs on Sarah Ludemann’s phone revealed that he showed off a gun in many of them. Her parents also noticed bruises on her body, but she claimed they were just from playing around.

On the other hand, Rachel Wade was an independent runaway living by herself since she was 15 years old. She worked at an Applebee’s, and co-workers claimed that Sarah Ludemann often visited her workplace with her friends. The group allegedly harassed Rachel. A co-worker said that Wade had put up with a lot for Joshua Camacho since their meeting. As per Tampa Bay Times, Wade was in love with him as well. On April 15, Sarah found out that Wade was at her friend’s place nearby and went over with a couple of her friends.

Who killed Sarah Ludemann?

In September 2010, CBS News reported that the court sentenced Rachel Wade to 27 years in prison after finding her guilty of killing Sarah Ludemann. The court convicted her of second-degree murder after authorities learned that she stabbed Sarah Ludemann, who went over to her friend’s place to confront her. She did, however, claim that she stabbed Ludemann in self-defense, fearing that latter and her friends would harm her.

The stab was so strong that the knife that Rachel Wade used was bent after it hit Sarah Ludemann’s heart. According to CNN, Ludemann and Wade had reportedly been fighting and arguing with each other for nearly a year on social media. Camacho, on the other hand, had impregnated another woman before he began dating Ludemann, as revealed from the conversations between Wade and Ludemann.

The defense, however, argued strongly that it was Sarah Ludemann who started the fight and that she was the primary aggressor. Wade’s defense stated that the murder happened in self-defense as she was the one who decided to confront Wade violently that day, according to CBS News. The prosecution said during the trial that while Ludemann was dying, Wade relaxed and asked officers of Pinellas Park for a cigarette.

“Battle of the Beach Bodies” will air on ID on Monday, April 29, 2024, and is an episode of Mean Girl Murders that will revolve around the killing of Sarah Ludemann and the subsequent conviction of Rachel Wade.
