“Battle of the Beach Bodies” is an upcoming episode of Mean Girl Murders on ID that will air on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET. It will delve into the murder of Sarah Ludemann by Rachel Wade over a man who was dating both of them at the same time.

Rachel Wade was 20 years old when she was accused of killing 18-year-old Sarah Ludemann, against whom she had a grudge. This was because the two shared a common love interest. Wade and Ludemann had been dating Joshua Camacho at the same time for a while. On April 15, 2009, Wade stabbed Ludemann in the chest with a kitchen knife. The knife hit Ludemann in the heart, leading to her death, CBS News reported.

ABC News reported that Sarah Ludemann grew up in Pinellas Park, FL, in a working-class neighborhood. At 17, she met Joshua Camacho at a Chick-fil-A restaurant where he was employed. Photographs on Ludemann’s cell phone revealed him showing off a gun. However, Camacho had been dating Rachel Wade simultaneously. Wade had her own apartment and a job.

While continuing to date them behind the other person’s back, Joshua Camacho insisted that the girls wear long pants to ensure other men did not check them out, even in scorching heat. Sarah’s parents reportedly had their suspicions about the relationship. They had also noticed bruises on her body. However, when they asked her about it, she told them it was from playful fighting.

What was Rachel Wade convicted of?

Rachel Wade and Sarah Ludemann initially did not know each other. When the two found out about Camacho dating them simultaneously, they reportedly confronted each other over text messages, voice mails, and MySpace postings. According to CNN, authorities found evidence of Wade threatening to kill Ludemann multiple times in the past. On April 15, 2024, Sarah Ludemann allegedly went over to Wade’s friend’s house after one such threatening message.

However, before they could talk about it, Rachel Wade pulled out a knife and stabbed Ludemann. Wade claimed that she pulled the knife only to threaten Ludemann and her friends. She allegedly thought they would not attack her if they saw the knife. Although her attorneys built a case around self-defense, Rachel Wade was found guilty. The court convicted her of second-degree murder and sentenced her to 27 years in prison.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Rachel Wade was a runaway and had been building her life from scratch since she was 16 years of age. She worked at an Applebee’s, and her co-workers told authorities that Sarah Ludemann and her friends frequented the place to harass Wade. One of her co-workers also said that Rachel had put up with the abuse for the sake of her relationship with Camacho.

Camacho reportedly impregnated a woman before he began dating Sarah Ludemann. Rachel Wade and Sarah had also been fighting over Camacho for over a year. Abuse and accusations online turned into a real-life tragedy when Wade stabbed Ludemann. Reportedly, she had stabbed with such violence that she bent the knife she used, CBS News reported.

The latest episode of Mean Girl Murders, which will follow the murder of Sarah Ludemann by Rachel Wade, is titled “Battle of the Beach Bodies.” It will be aired on ID on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET.
