Explore this weekend’s animated adventure with the Despicable Me 3 cast
This weekend, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment are bringing to the big screen the fourth entry in the hugely-successful Despicable Me franchise (counting the 2015 spinoff feature Minions). To date, the franchise has brought in more than $2.6 billion dollars worldwide! Now, Despicable Me 3 is here with a returning cast that includes the voice talents of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier and Nev Scharrel opposite Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, who rounds off the Despicable Me 3 cast as the villainous Balthazar Bratt. CS recently had the opportunity to catch up with a few of the stars and, in the player below, you can step behind the scenes with the Carell, Wiig and Cosgrove.
Despicable Me 3 follows the latest adventures of the Minions, Gru (Carell), Lucy (Wiig), Margo (Cosgrove), Edith (Gaier) and Agnes (Scharrel), as well as the new characters Dru (Gru’s twin brother, also voice by Carell) and Balthazar Bratt (Parker), a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and who soon proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.
There’s more from the world of Despicable Me in the works, too. Minions 2 is set for release in 2020.
Despicable Me 3 is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud. It is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio.
