In additional Spider-Man news, Deadline brings word that the film is tracking for an opening weekend between $90 million and $108 million, though fluctuation is always a possibility with these things, especially two-and-a-half weeks from opening. Should the numbers hold steady in that range, it would sandwich the film between Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man at $114 million and 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at $91 million. Spider-Man 3 has the highest opening for any of the webslinger’s movies at $151 million, with The Amazing Spider-Man on the low end at $62 million (it did, however, open on a Tuesday and had already made $137 million by the end of the weekend).
On the MCU side of things, Homecoming‘s opening is set to land in the range of the first Iron Man ($98M), Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($95M), and Guardians of the Galaxy ($94M). Should the film go on the high end of its tracking, it would have the seventh-largest opening weekend of a Marvel Studios movie, behind Iron Man 2‘s $128 million. How much money do you think Spider-Man: Homecoming will make opening weekend? Sound off below!
