I caught footage from Olivier Dahan‘s Grace of Monaco when I was in Cannes and I wasn’t particularly impressed with what I saw. Today a teaser trailer for the film starring Nicole Kidman has arrived online for you to be the judge as Kidman depicts Grace Kelly following her years as a former Oscar winner and mother of two.
The film begins as Kelly has already spent six years as the monarch of a European nation when the retired starlet was called upon to save Monaco from an escalating situation regarding its standing as a tax haven, with French leader Charles de Gaulle giving her husband, Monaco’s Prince Rainier III (Tim Roth), six months to reform its tax laws. Frank Langella, Derek Jacobi, Paz Vega, Parker Posey and Milo Ventimiglia co-star.
So far Grace of Monaco has avoided all the fall festivals, which isn’t exactly the best sign, as it will begin hitting limited theaters on November 27. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
