‘Last Vegas’ Theatrical Trailer

I can’t help but look at that picture above and think how much better I think this film would sound if instead of Robert De Niro they had cast someone like Larry David. Why is De Niro a continue goto for so many comedies? Do people really find him to be that funny? I like the addition of Michael Douglas, but it feels as if I’ve also seen Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline in similar kind of roles and yet CBS Films sends over a synopsis with today’s new trailer for Last Vegas that says the film stars “four legends like you’ve never seen them before.” Really? Okay…

The film follows the story of Billy, Paddy, Archie and Sam (Douglas, De Niro, Freeman and Kline), best friends since childhood. When Billy, the group’s sworn bachelor, finally proposes to his thirty-something girlfriend, the four head to Las Vegas with a plan to stop acting their age and relive their glory days. However, upon arriving, the four quickly realize that the decades have transformed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they never imagined. The Rat Pack may have once played the Sands and Cirque du Soleil may now rule the Strip, but it’s these four who are taking over Vegas.

As I noted a couple days ago, the film has already earned an R-rating, but CBS is appealing that rating so once it hits theaters on November 1 expect a PG-13 rating.
