Digger star Tom Cruise just showed off his incredible soccer skills ahead of the anticipated World Cup final. The acclaimed actor will soon appear in the new comedy movie, helmed by Oscar winner Alejandro González Iñárritu.
What do we see in the new Tom Cruise Digger video?
The latest Digger promotional video from Tom Cruise presents him as Digger Rockwell from the movie. He can be seen performing impressive juggling tricks with a soccer ball.
He does it all while comfortably sitting in a chair, with his cat Maggie lying behind him. “You like football, Maggie?” Cruise says before passionately screaming, “Let’s f*****g go!”
It seems even Rockwell can’t wait for the high-voltage World Cup Final between Argentina and Spain, set to take place on July 19, 2026.
Tom Cruise’s upcoming comedy movie also recently received its long-awaited trailer. The trailer showed the Hollywood star looking completely unrecognizable, thanks to heavy makeup and prosthetics.
Recently, Iñárritu teased some intriguing details on Cruise’s physical overhaul for Digger. “The transformation he went through was astonishing. ‘Alejandro, it took me 40 years to become this character,’ he told me once. And I think we both know what it means to carry an entire career into a single moment like this. We both knew that throughout our journeys, we had never done anything even close to this,” said the director.
Digger is written by Iñárritu, in partnership with Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolás Giacobone, and Sabina Berman. According to the official synopsis, the film follows Rockwell, the most powerful man in the world, as he goes “on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.”
Digger releases in theaters on October 2, 2026. The cast also features Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons. Sophie Wilde, Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, and Burn Gorman will also play essential roles.
