Takes a Long Time for Abraham Lincoln to Kill Those Vampires

Happy Memorial Day and on this day of remembrance 20th Century Fox delivers a new trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter as it also prepares to screen the film for the crew of the Navy aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in June, just ahead of the film’s June 22 release date.

As for the headline, I wrote that because over at MSN they are listing the film’s running time at a whopping two hours and 48 minutes, a daunting running time to be sure. Does it really take that long to whack off a collection of the undead?

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel of the same name reimagining Lincoln (played by Benjamin Walker) as an axe-throwing, highly trained vampire assassin, promising to give new context to real historical events such as the Civil War and Lincoln’s ascension to the White House. It begins with his mother’s murder when he was still a young boy and his vow of revenge. Walker is joined in the cast by Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Robin McLeavy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson, Robin McLeavy, Alan Tudyk and Rufus Sewell.
