We are just under a month away from the release of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the first feature from Timur Bekmambetov in four years and one I don’t entirely know what to expect.
I have been sure not to watch the trailers because my expectation and anticipation for this one is already low, though at the same time I am holding out hope as long as it is a bit more about the historical fiction of the narrative rather than an attempt at lots of CG blood and gore.
Starring Benjamin Walker in the title role, this adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s novel reimagines Lincoln as an axe-throwing, highly trained vampire assassin, promising to give new context to real historical events such as the Civil War and Lincoln’s ascension to the White House. It begins with his mother’s murder when he was still a young boy and his vow of revenge.
The film hits theaters on June 22, check out the new red band trailer directly below and click here for more on the film.
