It seems like I’m frequently often asked if there are any moments in movies that make me cry. I honestly can’t think of many, but I can tell you the image from Undefeated represented a scene in this amazing documentary that got me.
Now set to hit theaters on February 17, Undefeated centers on the inner-city Memphis high school football team, the Manassas Tigers and their 2009 football season, on and off-the-field, as they are led by volunteer head coach Bill Courtney. I haven’t officially reviewed the film, but I feel I’ve discussed it at length including the back in December after first seeing it.
The fact of the matter is, this was the best documentary I saw in 2011 and I’d love to see it take home the Oscar on February 26. Check out the trailer directly below and look for it in theaters later this month.
