Check Out the Cannes Teaser Trailer for Almodovar’s ‘The Skin I Live In’

I am convinced a lot of trailers nowadays keep in mind what scene is smack dab at the 50% mark because that is oftentimes the screen capture websites like YouTube use for the thumbnail image in their videos. And in that case you have to love the above capture and subtitle that comes at the 15 second mark in this new 30 second Cannes teaser for Pedro Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In.

The Skin I Live In is a loose adaptation of Thierry Jonquet’s “Tarantula” centering on a plastic surgeon (Antonio Banderas) who exacts terrible revenge on the man who raped his daughter. It too will be featured in competition at Cannes this year and I will be seeing it the morning of May 19th as the first film in a triple feature that day followed by Takashi Miike’s Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai and Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive. To say it is my most anticipated day of the festival would be a massive understatement.
