A pair of international trailers arrived recently and they couldn’t be any further apart on the spectrum as a French trailer for the Hayao Miyazaki animated feature Ponyo has arrived along with a new trailer for Lars von Trier’s Antichrist, which will debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Ponyo is a family feature telling the story of a young and overeager goldfish named Ponyo (voiced by Noah Cyrus) and her quest to become human. Disney is set to release the film on August 14.
Antichrist stars Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg as a married couple who retreat to a cabin in the woods after losing their young son. There, they run into some terrifying occurrences. Dafoe’s character is a therapist trying to help his wife deal with her grief, and it’s when that grief runs wild that things start to go weird.
Yes, these two films are polar opposites, but I have a feeling a lot of folks that want to see one are just as interested in seeing the other. Give ’em both a watch below.
