Sorry, but I have to assume from what I have seen Lionsgate’s The Spirit is going to be a shlocky mess filled with too many jokes, a lot of style and very little substance and the fact the new trailer presents what appears to be a completely different movie from what we have seen before isn’t helping. Sorry Lionsgate, you already showed us the toilet battle and how much you want to emphasize the corny one liners, just because you took them out of this trailer doesn’t mean they aren’t still there. And as you can see from the screen cap above, it is even jacking a little bit of that visual style brought by Watchmen.
I am still hoping for the best and had this been the only trailer for The Spirit I had seen I would be extremely excited for the flick, but as it turns out I already know better.
