Fans react to Nolan North’s Deadpool casting in Marvel Tōkon
Earlier today, PlayStation revealed that Nolan North will be lending his voice to Deadpool in its upcoming video game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
The YouTube trailer, titled “Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls – Samurai Outriders,” showcased the different playable characters that the game will feature, including Deadpool. The Merc with a Mouth will be a part of a team called Samurai Outriders, which will also include Ghost Rider, Loki, and Blade. Many fans expressed their excitement in the video’s comments section.
One fan wrote, “Nolan North always sounds like he’s having the time of his life as Deadpool. 13 years later and he’s still got it.” A second fan said, “Nolan North as DP just feels so right! I’m glad they got him back.” Meanwhile, a third fan commented, “Seeing Nolan North as Deadpool again made me tear up a lil.” A fourth fan wrote, “SOOOOOO happy to see Nolan North as Deadpool again, bro fits the character so well!”
North has previously voiced Deadpool on several Marvel projects, most notably in the standalone 2013 Deadpool video game. He has been lending his voice to the character since 2009, beginning with the animated movie, Hulk vs. Wolverine.
Apart from his role as a Marvel character, North is best known for voicing Nathan Drake in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted video game series. Considering the voice actor’s long-standing reputation, it was only natural that fans reacted positively to the reveal.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a tag-team fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It features the iconic Marvel characters in the studio’s signature anime-inspired visual style.
The game launches on August 6, 2026, for PC and PlayStation 5. Before that, the open Beta will run between July 24 and 26.
