The first teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming Descendants: The Rise of Red movie has been revealed, featuring the musical fantasy franchise’s newest leading characters.
The video introduces fans to the Queen of Heart’s rebellious daughter Red and Cinderella’s daughter Chloe, who will become roommates at Auradon Prep. The newest installment will start streaming on July 12, exclusively on Disney+.

What is Descendants: The Rise of Red about?
“Descendants: The Rise of Red follows Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, Cinderella’s perfectionist daughter. When the tyrannical Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, polar opposites Red and Chloe must join forces and travel back in time to undo the traumatic event that set Red’s mother down her villainous path,” reads the synopsis.
The film is directed by Jennifer Phang from a script written by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer. The ensemble cast includes: Kylie Cantrall as Red, Malia Baker as Chloe, Brandy as Cinderella, Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts, Dara Reneé as Uliana, Ruby Rose Turner as Bridget/Young Queen of Hearts, Morgan Dudley as Ella/Young Cinderella, Joshua Colley as Young Hook, Peder Lindell as Morgie, Grace Narducci as Fay/Young Fairy Godmother, Jeremy Swift as Principal Merlin, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter. The spin-off will also feature the return of China Anne McClain as her character Uma becomes the principal of Auradon Prep.
