Red vs. Blue: Restoration Trailer Sets Release Date for Series Finale Movie

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced that Rooster Teeth’s long-running animated series is officially coming back for its final installment titled Red vs. Blue: Restoration, which will be released as a full-length movie. In addition, Rooster Teeth also unveiled the film’s first teaser, featuring the titular teams of Blood Gulch.

“When the universe’s greatest villain returns in a terrifying new form, old adversaries, the Reds and Blues of Blood Gulch, will have to set aside their differences to save the galaxy one last time,” reads the synopsis.

When is the release date for Red vs. Blue: Restoration?

Written by co-creator Burnie Burns and directed by Matt Hullum, the film will be available to purchase starting on May 7, on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu and more. It will then be available to rent digitally on May 21.

“I’m thrilled to return for Red vs. Blue: Restoration, and to conclude this incredible twenty-one year journey with our longtime fans,” Burns said in a statement.

“Red vs. Blue has been a cornerstone of Rooster Teeth’s legacy, and we’re immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” added Hullum.

Red vs. Blue is a comedy web series set in the universe of the iconic Xbox video game franchise, Halo, where two teams, Red and Blue, engage in a perpetual conflict in a desolate canyon. Led by the bumbling Sarge and the cynical Church, the soldiers navigate absurd situations and misunderstandings with a mix of humor and sci-fi elements. Prior to the upcoming movie, the series had already released 18 seasons from 2003 to 2020.
