The Wolverine is well under way with filming and up until this point, there has been no confirmation from the studio about who will be playing the role of Viper in the film. Many actresses have been rumored for the role, but now we’ve got official word from the film’s Facebook page that Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) will be playing the role.
In addition to the casting news, the official synopsis for the movie can be found there as well. It reads: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, THE WOLVERINE finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
Coming to theaters on July 26, 2013, the James Mangold-directed action adventure stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
