Rango Pair Head to Fraggle Rock

Jim Byrkit and Alex Manugian are set to script New Regency’s big screen version of Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

The original series, which premiered on HBO in 1983, featured a world populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets. Initial plans for the movie had the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red leaving their home in Fraggle Rock and interacting with humans.

Byrkit is one of credited writers on Gore Verbinski’s Rango while Manugian, one of his writing partners, provided some voices for the animated feature.
