Deadline is reporting that Drew Pearce has come on board to write the script for Iron Man 3, in which Robert Downey Jr. will again play Tony Stark.
While it was believed that the third film’s director, Shane Black, would write a draft, the site says that Marvel Studios brought Pearce in after he turned in the script for Runaways, based on the comic by Brian K. Vaughan.
Deadline adds that Pearce will be starting from scratch and will work closely with Black.
Disney will release Iron Man 3 in theaters on May 3, 2013.
