Something you may have noticed if you ventured out to see Suicide Squad this weekend (and perhaps many of you did as the film broke the August record for an opening weekend), was that some of the moments featuring Jared Leto’s The Joker seen in the trailers weren’t present in the film, such as the moment above. Speaking with BBC Radio 1 (via EW), Leto spoke about the deleted scenes and said there was substantial amount removed.
“I think that I brought so much to the table in every scene, it was probably more about filtering all of the insanity. Because I wanted to give a lot of options, and I think there’s probably enough footage in this film for a Joker movie… If I were to die tomorrow, maybe the studio would roll something out. Rated R or rated X performance in there somewhere.”
Leto also spoke about the potential future for his take on the clown prince of crime, saying:
“It feels like there could be more to come… I think it entirely depends on the response of the public. If they respond to this Joker, I could imagine The Joker coming back, but if they don’t I certainly wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome.”
It remains to be seen where Leto’s Joker will next pop up, though he could make an appearance in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film or even a sequel to Suicide Squad, should it be announced. Would you like to see more of Jared Leto’s Joker?

Written and directed by David Ayer and based on the characters from DC Comics, the film was produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
