The Producers Guild of America announced this morning the theatrical motion picture and television nominations for the 2011 Producers Guild Awards, which will be hosted Judd Apatow on Saturday, January 22nd:
The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the television and motion picture nominations for the 2011 Producers Guild Awards. The three Producers Guild Awards categories for film include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; and The Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures. The five television categories include: The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy; The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama; The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television; The Award for Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television; and The Award for Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment and Competition Television.
The winners in each category will be announced at the Producers Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 22nd at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Additionally, the Guild will pay tribute to several special individual honorees during the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony including: James Cameron(Milestone Award), Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), Scott Rudin (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), Laura Ziskin (Visionary Award) and RealD (Vanguard Award).
Award-winning producer, director and writer Judd Apatow will serve as host of the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony. Critically acclaimed for his comedic television ventures along with an enormously successful list of film credits, Apatow has produced such films as: THE 40 YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, KNOCKED UP, FUNNY PEOPLE, ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY, SUPERBAD, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, GET HIM TO THE GREEK, THE CABLE GUY; and television series: Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, The Larry Sanders Show and The Ben Stiller Show, among others. In addition to a long list of projects currently in development under his production venture Apatow Productions, Apatow will next re-team with Freaks and Geeks collaborator Paul Feig on BRIDESMAIDS, which Feig directed (set for release in May 2011), followed by David Wains WANDERLUST (set for release in October 2011).
