Deadline reports J.C. Chandor (Margin Call) is in talks to direct the picture with Hanks still in the conversation as well as Will Smith. The film is set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge — making “la triple frontera” difficult to monitor and a haven for organized crime. Specific story details, however, are not available.
This works well for Chandor who previously exited Deepwater Horizon and was looking for a new gig.
