Paramount has yet to make an official announcement, but stars Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana have posted pictures on Instagram announcing their first day back as Spock and Uhura, filming Star Trek 3 in British Columbia’s Stawamus Chief Provincial Park.
Under the direction of Justin Lin (“True Detective”, Fast & Furious 6), there isn’t much known about the third film in the franchise. Rumors suggest the title may be Star Trek Beyond and Idris Elba will be playing the film’s villain.
We may get more in a few days and normally I would say to expect something from Comic Con, but it was already announced Paramount, along with Sony and Marvel, will be skipping the fanboy/girl event this year.
