20th Century Fox has finally released the first official picture of The Thing from the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot and unlike the previous two films based on the Marvel comic book series the actor is not inside a rubber suit as they have gone full blown CGI this time around. Personally I didn’t think the rubber suit Michael Chiklis wore in the last couple was all that bad, but the motion-capture CGI used to turn Jamie Bell into this new iteration will likely be an improvement thanks to the advancements in technology.
The pictures come courtesy of Empire magazine with two more included just below, but obviously the first look at The Thing is the major draw.
I have to assume this means a new trailer for the upcoming Aug. 7 release is around the corner as Fantastic Four will attempt to play the end of the summer season, hoping to earn your eyeballs after Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man have already melted them.
