I’m of mixed feelings about this new bit of behind the scenes footage from William Friedkin‘s The Exorcist. First off, it’s fascinating to see just how awesome the makeup effects were, combined with Linda Blair‘s performance. You also get an alternate look at Jason Miller‘s reaction to being shot in the face with pea soup and oatmeal during the vomit scene. All to a horrifying score.
However, at the 3:11 you see a second instance Blair is thrown around the bed as she wears an apparatus on her back. Blair’s back would be injured as a result of this apparatus and it’s here you can see her crying in pain and holding her back once the jerking stops. I have no way of knowing if it was at this moment that she injured her back, but she is clearly in pain.
