Your Box Office Predictions as ‘Dracula Untold’ Scores $1.3 Million Thursday Night

So both the readers and Laremy predict it will be a second weekend at #1 for David Fincher‘s Gone Girl, though Laremy seems to believe it won’t be nearly as easy as the readers do based on averages.

Laremy has Gone Girl dropping only 37.5% for a $24.4 million second weekend but he has both Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and Dracula Untold nipping at its heels at $23 million and $22.5 million respectively.

That number for Dracula Untold just might happen, but then again, after $1.3 million on Thursday night it could just as easily be closer to the $17.3 million predicted by the readers. It’s hard to say at this point, considering that Thursday figure can be deceiving. It’s well below Annabelle‘s number last weekend and the reviews for the film have been terrible. Your guess, at this point, is as good as mine.

Then we have Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which could be a big hit or open to a middling result. Disney probably isn’t too concerned considering it comes in with a $28 million budget, which means this one is going to be a winner no matter how you look at it.

The one I’m most curious about is The Judge, which isn’t a very good movie, but it also isn’t as bad as some have been making it out to be. It’s also a movie that could do very well with the over 40 demographic if they turn out to see it. Both Laremy and the readers see a result near $16 million, but it’s not so much the opening weekend that makes a difference with this one as much as it will be the second weekend drop and CinemaScore.
