New Villains Rumored for ‘Batman v. Superman’ and Snyder Talks about the Film’s Title

USA Today, director Zack Snyder doesn’t necessarily want the film to be considered a “versus” type movie.

“[S]uffice it to say there is a ‘v’ in between their names [in the movie’s title], Snyder says, “to keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.” See and here I was thinking it was merely because other social media names such as @BatmanvsSuperman were already taken while @BatmanvSuperman was readily available.

The USA Today article reiterates how we aren’t getting a Batman origin story, but instead “an older, road-weary take on the Dark Knight” with Snyder saying, “[I]t’s cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys.”

However, he does address bringing Batman into the fold so quickly after Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight trilogy which ended only two years ago with The Dark Knight Rises. “I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie,” Snyder said, “but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in.”

All said, he recognizes the anticipation for a film with both Batman and Superman in it saying, “You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it’s Batman and Superman, let’s just be honest. I don’t know how you get bigger than that.”

Well, I guess one way of getting bigger than that is by creating a film that doesn’t only have Batman and Superman, but also Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and now three more villains rumored over at Latino Review.

The site says you can expect Victor Zsasz, Morgan Edge and David Cain. Who are they? Well…

Zsasz is apparently a serial killer that will be seen battling Batman in an early scene set in Gotham City, Edge is “a total slimeball and a public relations exec for Lexcorp” whom we’ll meet going toe-to-toe with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) on a talk show early in the film and Cain is an assassin who teams with Lex Luthor’s bodyguard Mercy Graves to set up a little death dealing.

Oh and the site says a “very powerful antagonist” has yet to be cast or even mentioned already leading people to suspect the likes of Doomsday or Darkseid. This sounds like something that will lead directly into the Justice League film.
