First Poster for M Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth’

It would seem Jaden Smith is the star of M Night Shyamalan‘s After Earth and not his box-office gold father Will Smith as many got the impression Jaden was the lead from that first trailer and now the poster even gives him first place in the film’s above-title billing.

The poster below does hold a strong resemblance to the Oblivion starring Tom Cruise, but then again, both films do take place on a long-in-the-future Earth… Perhaps Cruise and the Smith boys have a run-in at the end and get jiggy with it.

Either way, here’s the poster and if you haven’t yet watched the trailer click here. After Earth hits theaters on June 7.

In After Earth, one thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.
