Jacob Aaron Estes‘ black comedy The Details had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011 and The Weinstein Co. has yet to release it in theaters, but today we get our first bit of movement on the pic.
The film stars Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks as a struggling married couple who, already dealing with issues like infidelity and whether they should stay married, see their lives further complicated by ravenous raccoons burrowing under the sod in their back yard. A disagreement over how to dispatch the pests creates a chain reaction of mishaps. Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert and Anna Friel co-star.
Even though IMDb lists a release date of November 2, that is so far unconfirmed as far as I’m aware, but things may have changed. I’ve read this film has gone through a series of cuts and edits since its Sundance premiere to make it “better”. One thing I am sure of, is this film was shot here in Seattle all the way back in 2009 and, after its Sundance showing, played the Seattle Film Festival earlier this year.
