I don’t know about you, but it seems like the marketing for Prometheus may be reaching a tipping point as the viral campaign has done a great job revealing small tidbits of the world the film is set in, but with each new featurette and trailer it’s beginning to feel as if the lid is coming off and we may be getting too much. Something I’m sure director Ridley Scott does not intend or hope will happen.
Today there is a new featurette of which I definitely won’t be watching since the last thing I want at this point is to hear the film discussed. I have, however, included it below along with seven screen captures from the video that feature a few new looks at the film. Fortunately, most of what we’re seeing just seems like new looks at many of the same scenes so it doesn’t seem like the sanctity of the story is compromised, but Fox needs to be careful so as not to ruin the mystery.
You can watch the featurette below, click on any of the thumbnails to browse the gallery, or click here to browse my gallery of 88 total pictures from the film. It’s up to you.
Prometheus hits theaters on June 8 and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce and Patrick Wilson.
Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
