I’m working on a new piece and this image doesn’t fit the article, but since I was compiling screen captures I thought I may as well take this one too.
The story, as has been told, is that the scene above featured a real knife and the actor’s actual eye. The knife was attached to a cable that was perfectly measured to come close enough to touch the actor’s eyelashes, but (obviously) not his actual eye.
The only reason I doubt the story is because it is a rather precious Hollywood eye and I can only imagine the insurance on such a stunt would have cost an astronomical amount. I’m sure you know the movie and the actor, so what do you think? True or not?
