Trailer for ‘Upside Down’ Starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess

It’s interesting to me when I read over at The Playlist that people have been anticipating a film called Upside Down considering I’d never heard of the film or its director/co-writer Juan Diego Solanas.

As it turns out, it stars Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess which The Playlist describes as a futuristic story following Adam (Sturgess) a seemingly ordinary guy who is holding on to the memory of Eve (Dunst), a girl he met once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent place with its own gravity.

The boys at The Playlist have been all over this film for some time now and when they interviewed Dunst back in October, Dunst described Upside Down saying it’s “[k]ind of like an accessible Brazil,” referring to Terry Gilliam’s 1985 feature, but the phrase “accessible Brazil” seems like an oxymoron if you ask me.

Either way, you can get your first look at the first CG-filled trailer for the film directly below. It comes from France, which may suggest the film is going to open there soon, but this seems like a film that would be perfectly suited for the Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival where Solanas won the Jury Prize for his short film The Man Without a Head (watch a clip from that here).
