New ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ Pictures, TV Spots, Soundtrack News and More

Several new bits and bobs related to David Fincher‘s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo have arrived recently including the 33 new images I added to my gallery for the film courtesy of the film’s newly redesigned website, seven additional images which I have included in a thumbnail gallery in this post along with two new TV spots for the film, which is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2011.

If you’re still somehow in the dark on this film, it is based on Stieg Larsson‘s internationally best-selling novel and is a murder mystery looking as far back as 40 years at the disappearance of Harriet Vanger, a scion of one of Sweden’s wealthiest families. All these years later, her aged uncle continues to seek the truth. He hires Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), a crusading journalist recently trapped by a libel conviction, to investigate. He is aided by the pierced and tattooed punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara). Together they tap into a vein of unfathomable iniquity and astonishing corruption.

The film is directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Seven) and along with Craig and Mara stars Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Joely Richardson, Steven Berkoff, David Dencik, Christopher Plummer, Yorick van Wageningen, Goran Visnjic and Alan Dale.

Additionally, Trent Reznor recently revealed on Twitter that the soundtrack for the film will be released on Mute Records outside North America and to look for more information on December 2.

Now, get to clicking around the images included here, the two TV spots below and the wealth of new images I added to the gallery right here.

Oh, and if you’re interested in a good, short read, Aaron Sorkin, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Fincher’s The Social Network) wrote up a short profile piece on Fincher for Vanity Fair, which you can check out right here and, over the weekend, I was messing around with some new logo designs for the site and made this logo inspired by the font face used for the marketing of this film. Let me know what you think.

There, that should keep you busy for a while.
