Trio of Pics of Knightley, Mortensen and Fassbender in Cronenberg’s ‘Dangerous Method’

Already one of 2011’s most anticipated films has got to be David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method starring Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel and today we have our first three official looks at the film courtesy of SoyPelopo82 (via The Playlist).

The film is based on the play by Christopher Hampton, following the conflict between Sigmund Freud (Mortensen) and his pupil Carl Jung (Fassbender). Knightley will play Sabina, a disturbed young woman brought to see Jung by her father after which Jung and Sabina have an affair.

For a while it looked as if Cronenberg’s next film may be The Matarese Circle with Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington, then A Dangerous Method popped up and Cronenberg went to work immediately. As of now the film does not have a distributor, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a major centerpiece at the Cannes Film Festival next year.
