Sony just sent over the first look at the poster for David Fincher’s upcoming “birth of Facebook” feature The Social Network starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones and Joe Mazzello. The picture is based on the Ben Mezrich novel “The Accidental Billionaires,” focusing on the evolution of Facebook from its 2004 creation on the Harvard campus by sophomore Mark Zuckerberg to a juggernaut with more than 200 million members.
I The Contenders” section, which is primarily based on the fact David Fincher (Zodiac, Seven) is directing, but I’ve also heard Aaron Sorkin’s script is quite good and the story is much better than we may actually assume.
The film is set for release on October 1 at this moment, which puts it head-to-head against several other releases including the American “Let the Right One In” remake Let Me In, Mark Romanek’s Never Let Me Go, John Madden’s The Debt and I believe George Hickenlooper’s Casino Jack is set to hit theaters the same day. Talk about a major weekend!
