Borys Kit is reporting the lovely Carla Gugino has been added to the cast of Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch reuniting the actress with the director after starring as Sally Jupiter in Watchmen earlier this year.
Gugino joins Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, and Abbie Cornish star in the 1950s-set tale of a girl (Browning) confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. She and her friends enter an alternate reality where they begin planning an escape.
There is no word on Gugino’s character, but I’ll guess she plays the mother to Browning’s character who goes by the name Baby Doll. Kit reports the actors are currently in fight training, and the studio is readying a fall shoot in Vancouver.

Sucker Punch is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2011.
