What If You Were a Robot? Would You Want To Know?

Well, tomorrow morning I will again be tuning in to SCIFI.com to watch the latest episode of “Battlestar Galactica” and from what I have learned it may actually be the last time early streaming is available. Gasp! The morning is perfect for me because Lord knows the rest of my days and nights are filled with other things to do. I was told to “push that fact” with my readers, but there was no word on whether or not a big turnout would encourage more episodes to be streamed early or less. My hope is that it won’t end, but what can I do about it? You have been told.

As for the headline, it was something I thought of over the past week. For those that watch “Battlestar” you know that the season three finale revealed four people that were Cylons and didn’t even know it. Upon learning what they were they all have had varying reactions. I am sure, however, at least one of them (had they actually been real people) would have preferred to not have known what they were.

I think it is only a natural instinct in humans to avoid bad news and in the case of being part of a robot society hell bent on human destruction as opposed to being human and one of the “good guys”, I would say learning you are a robot qould be quite jarring.

It’s silly, but just something to think about for those that follow the show. For those interested click here to check out the latest episode today beginning at 9 AM and continuing throughout the day on the hour up until 4 PM EST. Yup, that means here on the West Coast I can actually catch it at 6 AM. Episode 4.5 is titled “The Ties That Bind”.
