Scarlett Johansson is hardly the box-office draw most people thought she would be and unlike Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, she is a young female entertainer that is able to keep herself out of the tabloids and in this celeb infatuated world that is not exactly a great thing. At least she can go to bed and sleep without the flashbulbs waking her.
Nevertheless, Scarlett, when she isn’t making movies with Woody Allen, is apparently going to take to the director’s chair. It isn’t as if young Hollywood females haven’t already thought of this as Kirsten Dunst recently directed the short Welcome and Natalie Portman is expected to direct A Tale of Love and Darkness very soon.
Scarlett’s turn will be for the film New York, I Love You, something of a sequel to the 2007 directorial ensemble effort Paris, je t’aime in which several directors joined together to direct several short vignettes. Paris, je t’aime included helmers such as Joel and Ethan Coen, Wes Craven, Alexander Payne, Alfonso Cuaron, Walter Salles and Richard LaGravenese.
Already lined up for the New York counterpart are Johansson, Woody Allen, Anthony Minghella and Mira Nair.
The PageSix report also includes word that Johansson was approached by Courtney Love to play her in Heavier Than Heaven, a forthcoming Kurt Cobain biopic. Perhaps Courtney could look around and find someone closer to resembling a crack addict as opposed to a volumptuous and gorgeous Hollywood type. I think there is a woman that eats out of the dumpster outside my apartment that would be a better fit to play love than Scarlett. I could wrangle her up for yah Courtney should Scarlett figure out she looks 1,000 times better than you.
