Scarlett Jo Has Three Pics All Lined Up

Sorry to say it Scarlett, but I have seen The Nanny Diaries and it is a mess, on top of that the Johansson and Natalie Portman starrer The Other Boleyn Girl was just moved out of its December release and sent to no man’s land in February 2008. Suffice to say, Scarlett could use a hit considering the last time people can really look back at her acting abilities and say she did well was 2003’s Lost in Translation.

Well, word has come down from the almighty Hollywood Reporter as we learn Johansson has joined the ensemble cast of He’s Just Not That Into You, as well as the Frank Miller directed comic adaptation Will Eisner’s The Spirit and finally she will wear the crown in Mary Queen of Scots.

Johansson joins a massive cast with He’s Just Not That Into You including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Justin Long, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Aniston for director Ken Kwapis and New Line Cinema. The Baltimore-set movie of interconnecting story arcs deals with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior. Johansson will play a pilates instructor/aspiring singer who has an affair with a married man and hopes that he will leave his wife for her.

In The Spirit she joins Gabriel Macht who plays the title character, a detective who fakes his own death in order to fight crime in Central City as the masked man known as the Spirit. Johansson is in final negotiations to play a dangerous beauty named Silk N. Floss. Floss is a sexy and intelligent secretary with a vindictive instinct that makes her the perfect accomplice to the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), an evil mastermind.

Finally we have Mary Queen of Scots, a film that has been talked about forever, even so far back that Bryce Dallas Howard was up for the lead role back in October 2004.

John Curran (The Painted Veil) is set to helm the period piece which tells a love story based on the early life of the legendary queen (Johansson) that focuses on her relationship with the Earl of Bothwell and her rivalry with her half-brother James. The film is scheduled to go before cameras in March in the U.K.

The line up certainly has the potential to help Scarlett’s career, and I like the girl as an actress, it would just be nice if she got a little more pub for her acting as opposed to those curves we all love.
