I saw this press release come into my inbox yesterday and read through it and deemed it “not newsworthy” with just about a kagagillion other press releases that I get on a daily basis. However, I then saw the release regurgitated on ComingSoon.net and then LatinoReview even coughed it up.
So, I began to wonder if I missed the boat on something and wasn’t in on the joke. It is painfully obvious that the only reason this release went out was to promote TriStar Pictures’ upcoming release Daddy Day Camp, a film approximately 1 in every 302,541,243 (the U.S. population at time of publication) people will see. I am not sure if my headline asking “What the Fuck is a ChubbChubb?” is the question I should be asking, perhaps the question I should be asking is “Who the Fuck Cares What a ChubbChubb is?”
Obviously the picture above is a ChubbChubb and his name is Meeper. To me he looks like something I refer to as a dinosaur, but in the realm of things I don’t seem to know that is probably a minor detail.
So, when Meeper sets out to save Christmas in “The ChubbChubbs Save Xmas” will anyone care? My guess is that no one will give a reindeer shit what Meeper and his band of Chubbs do becaue no one is going to see Cuba Gooding Jr. further defile his career than he already has and is continuing to do as he is now playing second fiddle to Michael Jordan in Hanes commercials. Gooding used to say “Show me the money!” Last I checked he was out on Hollywood Blvd. begging for it. My how things have changed since Jerry Maguire.
What up Cuba? You can still act, stop with shit like Boat Trip and Daddy Day Camp. Go snort some coke with Lin-Lo, crash your car and get in an indie film and build that career back up.
As for these ChubbChubb dinosaur characters just wait for the Surf’s Up DVD, it will be on there too and you can see a decent animated film and not cry in your hands as you watch Cuba sink further down the Hollywood Poop Shoot.
The most unfortunate thing about this whole article is that I still mentioned Daddy Day Camp and gave Sony exactly what they wanted, even if it was negative comments. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
