Mischa Barton Gets a ‘t.A.T.u.’

Mischa Barton is not a good actor and despite what show creator Josh Schwartz says I still believe she was killed off “The O.C.” because her character was one of the worst in television history. So, why is it that the girl that should have remained only as the vomitting ghost in The Sixth Sense is still getting roles? Her next appears to be in the Roland Joffe (Captivity) helmed Finding t.A.T.u. and it doesn’t sound too interesting.

The story is set against a background of music, Internet chatrooms and hedonistic Russian nightlife, it’s the story of a lonely American teenager in Moscow who becomes friends with a local girl over their shared obsession with pop band t.A.T.u.

The film is based on the novel “Finding t.A.T.u.” by Aleksey Mitrofanov.

I was never a fan of the Russian lesbian pop group t.A.T.u. but if you were wondering what the name means, word around Wikipedia is that it comes from “ta” (‘that’ female form) and “tu” (‘that’ female possessive form) from the Russian language. The group has stated that the name can mean “this girl loves that girl.” Exciting stuff eh?

Well, the cast of the film also includes Shantel VanSanten, Anton Yelchin, Alex Kaluzhsky and Helena Mattsson and starts shooting in Moscow later this month.

A pic of the t.A.T.u. gals is below for your “pleasure”.
