Okay folks, if you don’t want to know anything about Indiana Jones IV then you better look away, but I think this plot detail will be revealed with the first trailer so I don’t think this is too spoilery, but I am giving you fair warning from the beginning.
Both CHUD and IESB are reporting that Cate Blanchett is not in fact Indy’s next romantic interest in Indy 4. As a matter of fact she is going to be playing the baddie as CHUD says “she’s been seen in the last week running around in a Soviet military uniform (that’s some pre-production stuff, I believe, not actually shooting anything).”
One thing that is interesting about all the information that has come out of this is that CHUD keeps saying how close the story seems to be keeping to Frank Darabont’s version of the script of which George Lucas dismissed and Frank ranted about recently. To that effect CHUD also posted what they describe as a “major spoiler” and blacked it out in their article here so to get that news click away because I am not reading it or reporting it.
I am hoping these sites chill a bit with all the news they are reporting on this film because it is beginning to feel like it is going to be ruined in the next month or so and it doesn’t even hit theaters until May 22, 2008. However, if they keep spoiling it I will point you in that direction, but I won’t be repeating what they say on this site. I want Indy 4 to be a complete surprise, I love the other films and want this one to be just as special.
