Hmmm, I would say the Eddie Murphy of 12 years ago, the Chris Rock of about 5 years ago and, well, Brett Ratner from whenever I guess might have made this a good movie, but now? Eh, not so sure.
Production Weekly is reporting that Ratner is set to follow up the still in-production Rush Hour 3 with an untitled heist drama set to star Rock and Murphy. There is no mention of the word “comedy” in the article but I find it hard to believe that with these two involved and Ratner’s Rush Hour track record there won’t be a comedic element to the pic.
The film was written by Russell Gewirtz, (Inside Man) and follows a pair of Trump Tower janitors (Murphy & Rock) who plan an elaborate heist to burglarize its luxury tenants. The project is eyeing a March production start in New York.
