Selma Blair is set to topline the indie feature The Listening Party for director John Chuldenko reports Production Weekly.
The film is about relentless optimism, and the intimacy of ex’s. It’s about work and the price of success. It’s about four friends whose best times are behind them…they just don’t know it yet. The script follows Doyle Bucklin, a musician facing his own creative mortality and, like many artists, as inspiration skipped out, liquor and drugs moved in. Around the same time, Doyle achieves some commercial success, and a major record label releases his new album. His manager, Jane, (Blair) has crafted a burgeoning career in the wake of Doyle’s success, even managing to spin Doyle’s self-destruction into a buzz worthy public image.
Production is scheduled to begin early August in Los Angeles.
