Edward Norton, one of the better actors that isn’t in nearly enough films, has signedon to star in Neil Burger’s The Illusionist, a feature film adaptation of Steven Millhauser’s short story “Eisenheim the Illusionist.”
The film finds Norton playing a magician in turn-of-the-century Vienna who falls in love with a woman well above his social standing. When she becomes engaged to a prince, the magician uses his powers to win her back and undermine the stability of the royal house of Vienna.
Production is currently scheduled for an April start in Prague.
